DESIGNING A LUXURY KITCHEN BY THE SEA
LUXURY, CUSTOM MADE KITCHEN DESIGN
This kitchen is all about its location. The view the working areas give of the sea is reflected in marine or seashore materials.
We used coconut palm wood from ex-fruiting trees which is naturally enriched by a protective oil perfect for the kitchen.
In a wave pattern behind the sink, handmade tiles with a pearly lustre reflect light off the ocean.
In this space we set a pair of working tables at angles to define the culinary zone. The structure of a table is lightweight compared to an island, allowing light to travel through to the rest of the room.
These are no ordinary tables. They are super-functional with a suspended oven, hob, drawers and racks for storage - so time in the kitchen is spent both cooking and looking out to sea.
